AHMET MEREY

Born in İstanbul in 1950. After studying at German High School and Robert College, he graduated from Boğaziçi University Department of Management. Afterwards, he studied for MBA at Duke and Miami Universities in the United States. Following his military service, he got a start in business and dealt with the family-run business of land development and construction.

He retired after thirty years of working, and devoted his time to collecting and painting pictures. He has been painting for ten years. Ahmet Merey held his first exhibition, “Ahmet’s Mountains”, in April 2010. Among his hobbies are mountain climbing and skiing. He writes short articles about the mountains and countries where he goes to.

İPEK MEREY

Born in İstanbul in 1952. After studying at Robert College, she graduated from Boğaziçi University Department of Management and studied for MBA at the same university. Starting from her university years, she sold bearings at the Perşembe Bazaar in Karaköy for thirty years as part of her family-run business of bearing import. İpek Merey has been lecturing on “Accounting” and “Small Business Management” at Boğaziçi University for seven years. Owing to her particular interest in pictures, she also gives attention to collecting pictures.
